When going to a casino and sitting down for a game of roulette, deciding on a betting system is a good way to avoid placing your bets too randomly and therefore win less. There are many systems around but the most famous one is based on the Fibonacci sequence. The Fibonacci sequence was discovered by Leonardo of Pisa somewhere around the 12th Century and it was found to exist already in nature.
It is a simple system; basically beginning with 1, each number is the addition of the two previous numbers. Therefore it begins with 1 then 1 (because before 1 there is nothing, so 1 + 0), then 2, 3… it is a well known sequence that looks like this: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, and so on and so forth.



So at the casino playing roulette, you can use this sequence to help you with the amount of money you put down with each spin of the wheel. Basically, you bet one unit to start with and then if you lose you bet one unit again, then two and up to three working your way up the Fibonacci sequence. When you win you start right back down at the beginning with one again.
Of course, looking back at the list on numbers, this can be expensive so you are better off making the bets small and only build up a loosing streak of six or seven otherwise it could get discouraging. The good news is that at an American table (with the extra pocket for double zero) the chances of loosing twelve straight times in a row are slim to none.

Using the Fibonacci sequence to place your bets is a great way to stabilise yourself and all it takes is memorising a few numbers. It is basically a stable system which calculates scores based on the results of the games. The bets stay low and climb in a subtle slow manner, which lets you play without getting too nervous over large bets. This also means that the system is not as likely to fail as a result of table limits, which makes it even more attractive.
At the same time you should keep in mind the fact that if you hit a bad streak (sorry, it can happen) winning will not cover all your loses but it will minimise them, which makes the whole game more enjoyable for you. Still, you must also remember that whatever system you are playing with, it is not a sure fire way to beat the table and does not guarantee winning large sums of money, what it does do is regulate your losses, making your game just that much more disciplined.
